Wax on wax off

Finally the wax rendering is done.

We started with cappings stored in buckets following honey extraction.

This was added to a pan with a little water in and gently melted down then allowed to cool and set

This results in a cake of wax that is cleaner than before.

The process is repeated as necessary to remove as much debis and honey as possible.

The wax is then put into a double boiler and melted, keeping the temperature of the was around 70C or less.

Finally the wax is poured through a filer material to remove any remaining debris into moulds.

As the wax cools it starts to set.

Once set its removed from the mould and it's ready for use in producing candles, beeswax wraps, etc..
